Surfacing back up...
I've been extremely remiss on the blog. In the beginning, I didn't want to post until I sent my Desire full in and then I just got lazy... by that I mean day job, toddler, cooking, writing etc.
Anyway, the desire full is in the editor's hands and I'm driving full charge ahead into the first draft of Alessandro and Rachel's story so that I could have a partial in for the Presents line ASAP. I finished chapter 5 and hit a small snag. so, I took a couple of steps back and took an overview of their GMCs and conflict instead of just writing ahead as I usually do. Chapter 6 is always the devil for me, something I end up writing 3 to 4 times, because for some reason, I get the end right, but throw in a couple of plot devices and twist the characters into doing something they wouldn't to get to the end.
Instead, I'm thinking. What do they want at this point? Why? And how're they getting there? Have their goals changed from the beginning? If so, again why?

Hey, Sri. Good luck with your Desire full! Crossing fingers for you.
If you're throwing in plot devices then maybe you need to dig deeper in terms of the conflict - at least, that's always the problem with me! :-)
On the spot, Jackie!!
That's why I stopped instead of just writing ahead to finish the draft and saying I will fix it later. Digging deeper, deeper. :-)
Sri.
