Lost My Mojo

Yep, I've lost the mojo or whatever that is that spurs me into spinning stories.

At least, it's missing.
Several things going on in life and writing's the first thing that takes a hit.
Whatever I do, I'm just lacking the enthusiasm to just get my head into any WIP and keep plugging.
Donno why.
Have to do something to get it back because I get really unhappy when I'm not writing.
A little buzzing bee lands in a corner of my mind and keeps pecking and pecking reminding me that I haven't worked on anything for so many days and it's really hard to ignore the darned bee.

So, have to do something to get the energy back.
If I figure out what, shall definitely inform you.

I wondered where you'd got to, Sri!
So sorry you've hit the 'go-slow' phase. If I remember rightly, you won a mentor, right? Now she must have recognised your talent, she had faith in you-it would be a shame not to put that talent to good use! No doubt you've already put in hours and hours-you've come too far to let it all go now.
I belong to Romance Oz and NZ, loops. Just lately there's been some inspirational 'call stories' coming through. Certainly helps keep the
mogo-going!! margie s

Sorry to hear that, Sri! Would a new story get it going again? Sometimes a new idea can get you all sparked up again.

Try some different music? Change up your normal routine? Wish there was a surefire of nudging the idea fairy to stop by, but I've found no common theme yet. The other day I was washing dishes and came up with a twist to my current I'm going to have to incorporate later. That's how odd my own muse can be. LOL

Ah I know this phase well and it doesn't inpsire good feelings. The trick is to write everyday even if it's only one hundred words. Those words add up and when you have more time and you're able to get back into your writing you'll still have your head in the story :). I read too much so I can't tell you exactly which published authors recommended that but it seems to work :).

Don't beat yourself up about it, makes it worse. You've got a lot of new things going on in your life right now so maybe your poor head hasn't got space for creative stuff just now.

I'm betting when your life has settled down a bit, the words will flow :-)

Be kind to yourself, make sure your Smart Guy pampers you and everything will work out right :-)

Hey, stuff happens ...

One remedy that I've heard several successful writers say they use is to just do some free writing. Check is out: http://writing2.richmond.edu/writing/wweb/freewrite.html

Be nice to yourself and try to ignore the guilt Sri. It will get better, honest. You're still the same creative person deep down but if there's a lot going on maybe you're asking too much of yourself at the moment?

I've nominated you for a Kreative Blogger award but please don't feel any pressure to partake if it's too much...
